Building blocks daycare new york1/18/2024 NYC is a highly competitive environment, we strive to provide our children with the tools necessary to take on the rigors of most kindergarten and first grade programs in the area and it is our goal to exceed the expectations of each family that entrusts us with the care and early education of their child. It is our job as their first school teachers to ensure they build a strong foundation that facilitates a lifetime of learning by encouraging their exploration and inquisitive nature in addition to exposing them to structured lesson plans in a fun and imaginative way. It is our belief that all children are enthusiastic learners, actively seeking information. We pride ourselves on providing a stellar preschool education, a unique ratio of teachers to children, with upscale amenities and service, in a warm, nurturing environment. Welcome to Little Ivies Prep! Here at Little Ivies, we are committed to making each day a learning day, filled with a variety of centers and activities that help our early learners discover what interests and inspires them while also ensuring they have the necessary readiness for school and academics. We have activated a host of safety precautions and protocols to ensure that your child's tie with us will be one where health and safety are paramount!. Generally, we are open from 8:30-6:00 Monday through Friday. We offer many different flexible options in terms of our hours of availability. This strategy helps to preserve their sense of self-esteem and belief in the fact that learning is sometimes messy. Your child's teachers are guides and facilitators who do not need to play the traditional teacher-role of judge, jury, and dispenser of all information, instead, children identify their skills and where and how they can grow. Our materials actually encourage self-control while inviting children to reflect on how to improve. Our schools use specially developed Montessori Resources which are easy to use and are suited specifically for your child's age. Our programs are constantly reflected on and updated by our Directors and Teachers to offer maximum support and care for each child. show moreĪt World of Children, each child receives an education that is individually created specifically for him/her. Every teacher has been phenomenal - hiring amazing people is one of the director's many talents - and we are so grateful for each and every one of them. Now at 5, my almost-kindergartener has amazing relationships, reads very well, and has loads of incredible memories of a lifetime-to-date at Little Ivies. Given the small class sizes, the teachers have been able to go well beyond the traditional daycare or preschool curriculum, while still incorporating loads of music, movement, arts, and play throughout the day. ![]() As the children get a little older, they continue to have warm, loving caregivers, and also start learning more formally. They do fantastic activities, have the cutest little gym (it may look small, but the 0-2yos who use it universally adore it!), go for neighborhood walks, and spend time in the facility's charming private backyard (so perfect with Covid). The care for the younger children is incredible - the babies are so loved by the director and entire staff, not only their main teacher. The space is so charming and absolutely perfect for children 0-5, and is kept immaculately clean. ![]() ![]() We've loved the facility, the people, the program, and the owner/director. We have had an amazing experience at Little Ivies. As my son heads off to kindergarten this fall and we tearfully say goodbye to Little Ivies, I thought it would be a good time to reflect on our years there and share a review. My children have attended Little Ivies since they were each around 3 months old.
